About the Author

Don Walin
Don Walin is a retired Canadian PGA golf professional. He was an active member of the CPGA from 1987-1995. He also graduated with a diploma in golf operations and management, from the San Diego Golf Academy in 1986.
Don’s career as a CPGA golf professional was stopped short because of his bipolar disorder, first diagnosed in 1989, just a few days before his 25th birthday. After a ten year battle with this illness, Don’s mental health improved significantly.
After being well for several years, he was inspired to write and share his life experience with others and give hope and inspiration to as many people as possible.
He has lived with manic depression (bipolar disorder) for over thirty years. Ultimately, this is a success story about overcoming a severe mental illness. He is looking forward to the future as an author and a mental-health advocate. Don lives in West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, with Ellen, his common-law wife of twenty years, and Stella, their Bernese Mountain Dog.
